Idle Arks: Build at Sea is a relaxing ship-building game from BHome games. Your objective is to construct vessels from wood, sail away to different locations and rescue survivors. The in-game map reveals various locations to explore a ship construction phase is completed. Much of the building work depends on wood, which can be acquire from a source placed on the middle of the ship, planks and chests. The source provides a never-ending supply of wood. The idle part of this game lets you collect wood automatically. However, you will have to command crew members to build the ship either by clicking on glowing orbs or from the buildings list menu. When you are not playing, the game continues producing wood, but only for 2 hours.  

Idle Arks: Build at Sea has lovely 3D pixelated graphics. The three-dimensional blocky world looks amazing on your smartphone screen. You can rotate the ship 360 degree. The background music is soothing to the ear. Because this is an idle game, there isn’t any hurry to build a ship. You can take your time, amass wood and then construct parts one by one until you build a vessel.

Ship models will be very unique and themed. In the third chapter, you will construct an Egypt-themed golden ship, complete with a sarcophagus and alter. In this guide, we will help you increase wood production and build vessels fast.

Idle Arks is a fun little Minecraft-esque, raft survival simulator, and, as such, it uses a lot of different resources. It’s not always clear how best to gather and use these, so here are all the tips, tricks, and cheats you might need to play Idle Arks:

• Gather pots of gold: though you have to watch an ad to claim them, it’s certainly worth gathering pots of gold floating in the sea if you want to speed up your growth
• Save your gems: gems are useful for getting resources without wanting to watch ads, so hold onto them
• Ark missions: completing these missions can give you wood and gems as a reward, so they are well worth doing
• Grab driftwood: the wood that you find floating by your raft is free, and doesn’t require ads to gather
• Let your workers gather: Idle Arks is, unsurprisingly, an idle game, meaning that you can go away and do something else as your workers gather resources – this even happens when the game is closed

Building a ship would be easy in the first chapter, but as you progress, you will have to build complex ships with several decks or “floors”, walls, torches, rudders, paddles etc.  

– The first thing you should do is to access the building list to know what parts are needed for construction in the first floor. Once you finish construction of the first floor, a new floor unlocks.  

– The Buildings list can be accessed from the bottom of the screen. Tap on the pad and hammer icon to access the list.   

In this list, you will know what parts are required to build the ship. You will also know what parts should be constructed first to unlock the next.  


– Noticed the “Build” button next to a part in the list? Tap on it to start adding that part to your ship. Continue constructing all those parts that have the “Build” button next to them. Make sure you have enough wood to build all. 

– If you don’t have enough wood, start collecting them. Tap on the floating treasure chests, also known as “pot of gold”, to instantly get plenty of wood. You will have to watch an ad to get them.  

– Keep an eye on floating planks and tap on them. One of your crew members will swim in the sea to grab it. A single plank grants lots of wood.  

– There will be some sort of object or source that will produce wood at regular intervals. The source could be a palm tree or a rock or anything placed on the center of the ship. When wood is available from the source, all crew members will go near the source and collect them.  

– Besides the main source, there will also be additional buildings that will generate wood at regular intervals. You can get a list of those structures from the buildings menu (notepad – hammer icon).  

Example: In chapter 3, go to the buildings list and you will see the eternal tree. Tap on the build button to place it on your ship. Do this before building anything else. The tree gives constant supply of wood at regular intervals.  

– You will also find parts that have been grayed out. They need to be unlocked first after building a certain number of previous parts. In the above screenshot, the ladder unlocks once you have built 16 blocks.  

– Most of the parts, such as ladder, paddle, torch, walls etc. boost wood production by a certain percentage. You can see the percentage boost on the bottom of the part’s name. Build them to increase wood production. The percentage increase will be permanent for that chapter not only for the wood acquired from trees but also from floating planks and chests.

Certain objects can also be upgraded to further increase wood production.  

You can unlock items and buildings on the next deck once you have built and upgraded all items in the first deck. There should be a green checkmark beside all buildings in the first deck if you want to start constructing new parts in the second deck.  

Those were some beginner-level tips to build ships fast in Idle Arks: Build at Sea. Remember that wood is crucial for constructing all ship parts, so your main focus will be to obtain as many wood pieces as possible before you start constructing.  

Tap on the map icon. You will find the map on the top of the screen. Now tap the “Task” button on the bottom of the screen. You will get a list of special tasks. Complete them one by one to get your rewards, which includes wood and gems.  


Tap on the “Journey” button beside the “Task” button to have a look at all complete ships. Tap on the magnifying glass on the bottom of the ship portrait to get a 3D view of ship in a bottle. 

Wood is the prime resource in Idle Arks: Build at Sea. You will need a lot of wood to build everything in your ship, ranging from rafts to the rudder. 

Your crew obtains wood from palm trees at regular intervals. Certain parts, especially the bigger ones, such as paddles, lounges, torches, hammocks, rudders and sails increase wood from palm trees and floating planks by a certain percentage.  

You can double all wood collection or production for 5 minutes if you activate “Boost Fever”. Tap on the x2 button on the bottom of the screen and then tap the “Watch Ad” button. After watching a 30-second ad, your crew will obtain x2 wood for 5 minutes. You can increase the time to max 30 minutes if you watch 6 videos.  

The time acceleration power up appears on the right side of the screen. Tap on it and watch an advert to speed up time for a minute. Your crew members will work fast, gathering wood from trees and  

Speed Up power-up appears frequently, so whenever you need a push in producing more wood at a very short span, get this power up ASAP.  


Tip: After activating it, quickly tap on all floating planks to collect wood. Your crew members will quickly swim to the planks to get wood

There are 6 unlockable animals in Idle Arks: Build at Sea. They need to be rescued in each chapter. Check the map to know the location of the next animal. Under discoveries, you will see a list of character and animals that can be rescued from the current chapter. 

Each animal has a special anility. Chicken lays eggs which produce wood, a tortoise grants 20 percent increase in production of all buildings.  

Once you rescue chickens in chapter 2, you will start obtaining wood from the eggs laid by them. When a chicken lays an egg, a crew member automatically goes near it and hatches it to get wood. Chickens lay eggs regularly, but it will take some time to lay one. The tortoise can be rescued in chapter 3. he will swim close to your ship and increase wood production boost of all buildings.  

There will be multiple locations on a map. To move to the first location, complete all building and upgrade tasks mentioned on the notepad menu. 

Your quest to rebuild the world in Idle Arks starts out on a lone beach and with Adam, your first survivor. Survivors are important members of your crew – without them, the arks will never be built and your raft will sink.

Your first course of action is to gather up some wood. There are two main currencies in Idle Arks: wood and gems, although gems are the premium currency of the game.

To gather wood, you have to rotate the camera around by swiping the screen. Look for driftwood floating by, then tap on it to make Adam swim out and retrieve it. Once he brings it back to the raft, it will be added to your overall wood count.

In addition to the wood, you may also see bottles floating around. These bottles contain random messages that offer you some insight about life, but they are otherwise worthless, so you can go ahead and ignore them if you want.

You are very dependent on random driftwood for the early portions of each chapter, so make sure that you keep an eye out for more as it drifts by.


You may even seen golden chests, and these are special chests that will reward you with a ton of wood but you have to watch an advertisement before you can open them. If you do not want to deal with ads, they can be safely ignored.

Since the game sort of just throws you into it, we will explain how to progress and ultimately beat the game. In each chapter you are assigned three “ark missions,” which can be seen by tapping the progress bar at the top right corner of the screen.

Before you can continue your adventure, you will need to ensure your raft is suitable for long-distance sailing. The three ark missions you get are focused on building up your raft, so completing all the missions should be your main priority.

Once you do, you may have to keep building a little bit afterwards, but soon enough your raft will be completed and you can complete the chapter.

If you are ever unsure of what to work towards next, looking at your ark missions is a good place to start. Also, as you complete missions, the progress bar will fill up to show you how close you are to finishing the chapter.

If there are multiple parts to a chapter, there will also be stars underneath the progress bar. When you first one section, you will receive a star. Get all stars to finish the chapter!

To build the raft, you need lots and lots of wood. When you first start out, your main source of wood will be from the driftwood that floats on by every now and then. Be sure to keep an eye on it.

You can build using one of the two methods: tapping on the blue crystals, or opening the task list at the bottom right corner of the scree. If there is a blue crystal on your raft, that shows that you need to build something there next.

Tapping on the blue crystal will bring up the structure that needs to be built. To access a quick list of the planned buildings, you can tap on the task list. Using the task list is a little faster than individually tapping on each crystal.

For the most part, rafts are what you are going to building most of the time. To be specific, more raft space so that you can build more structures on top.

In order to build as efficiently as possible, you will want to build rafts until you unlock a structure of some sort, like a tree or a carrot farm and so forth. All of these structures boost your overall wood generation rate, making it much easier to earn wood faster in the long run!


Once you build the structure, then you can go back to building more rafts. This way, you will be generating more wood over time that can help you build the rafts faster. It is the ultimate plan to build your raft completely!

Idle Arks features day and night cycles where time passes as your survivors continue to work on the raft. There are four periods of the day: morning, afternoon, evening, and night. When it becomes night time, your survivors will stop what they are doing and turn in for the night.

When you are building the raft, be sure to keep an eye on the time. Once your survivors go to bed, you cannot wake them up at any point until it is morning, so make sure to finish up everything you wanted to before night falls.


To be exact, you should harvest all of your item structures (food farms, trees, etc) before the day is over. During the night, your item structures will probably be ready for harvest when morning rolls around, maximizing profits.

Once you complete all tasks and get all stars, you will complete the chapter and you will move onto the next one. Unfortunately this also means that you must start over from scratch with a brand new raft.

But, to offset this, the game will often reward you with an additional survivor, which means you have more helping hands to go around on the raft. With more survivors, your raft can run more smoothly thanks to the extra help.

Your survivors will automatically take care of tasks aboard the raft over time. They will build things when you issue the order and harvest item structures when they are ready. They will NOT, however, swim off the raft to grab driftwood, so you have to do that manually.

You can queue up retrieval actions if you spot multiple items in the ocean. Tapping on an item will make it start flashing, meaning it is in the queue and someone will go fetch it shortly.

Those random golden chests that you see floating by can be opened by either watching an advertisement or paying 10 gems. They get mighty tempting later on when structures begin to cost astronomical amounts of wood.

Since there is not really anything else to spend gems on, you can go ahead and quick open these golden chests to get a nice chunk of wood if you do not want to wait.

There is one thing to this though – it is better to start opening golden chests during the later parts of chapter than it is early on. The reason being is that the amount of wood inside the golden chests actually scales to how far you are in the current chapter.

So, naturally a golden chest at the beginning of a chapter may hold up to around 5,000 wood, whereas the later chests can have up to around 50,000 wood! Since the gem cost never changes, it is best to hold on for the moment.

To build the structures, you need wood. Survivors can acquire wood from the sea; there would be floating wooden boards – tap them and survivors will go and pick them up. If they are sleeping, they would not go. In the upper-left corner of the game, you can check the timestamps. 
Additionally, once you have built the tree plants on the ark, you will get the wood now and then. Survivors automatically gather the wood from the tree once it’s ready to chop. 

Or, keep an eye on the floating chests in the sea -> tap -> watch video ads and get the wood. 

To proceed to the next sea or unlock new locations or chapters in Idle Arks, you must achieve all the stars or finish the ark upgrades. To do that, you will have to build all sorts of structures on all the floors. On the bottom-right corner, tap the “crafting” hammer button -> on the next screen, you will see all the things that you can build. Switch to other floors and complete the construction. 
Once you are all done, you will get to sail. Keep sailing and unlock all the locations. As of now, the game features these locations; lost temple, red and sand, odyssey. In each location, there would be different ark missions to complete. 

Survivors are “crews” that help you in building the ark. The more survivors you have, the more structures you can build at the same time. Sail more areas and you will unlock more survivors. 

Just like survivors, you get animals after clearing a certain adventure or ark mission(keep sailing). Animals such as chicken, turtle, duck, and more give you resources now and then. For example – the chicken drops an egg that survivors can collect for the wood resources. 

Keep an eye on the floating chests and video ad offers to speed up the progress. Also, keep in mind that the game is idle; your survivors will continue to gather the wood from the tree plans while you are offline. When you come back, you can claim the offline earnings. Watching the video ad doubles the offline reward.
